D Lighting

When we say "I see the light", we are "enlightened". When things get better we "see the light at the end of the tunnel." When we have an original idea, a light bulb goes off above our heads. And we all know it is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.

Working in film, video and theater lighting has broadened my ideas and philosophy on lighting, allowing me to take what I have learned and achieved in one area and successfully apply it to another.

Many theater directors have commented on my ability to design naturalistic lighting that also has a dramatic quality with a cinematic feel. At the same time I have had film and video directors tell me how my lighting has added a dramatic element while still maintaining realistic believability.

Light is life. Light is communication. Light is art.
